With her unique understanding of how the skin responds & adapts to environmental challenges over time, her passion for beauty, travel & adventure, Rachel was inspired create Albus & Flora, following her time skiing in the French Alps – seeing first hand the acute & chronic damage UV could cause on un-protected lips.
A speaker at the UK’s scientific FACE Aesthetics Conference, and a long time member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Rachel’s passion for combining natural botanicals and high potency cosmeceutical, science backed actives is at the heart of the brand.

NEW ADVENTURES
Rachels’ sense of adventure and affinity with the outdoors first lead to a scientific career – with degrees in physiology and research specialisms within exercise, acclimatisation and pharmacology.
She fell in love with the breath-taking beauty of the mountains, reconnected with nature, found what was to be the start of a new chapter in life.
Equipped with her scientific background and a lifetimes passion for skin care, she began exploring how these seemingly delicate alpine botanicals had the resilience and adaptability to survive both baking sun and deep snow.
Over 200 formulations later, with a team of talented chemists, the first ALBUS & FLORA creation was born – a small but perfectly formed broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 lip balm packed full of natural ingredients yet able to perform in a range of challenging climates.
